Thank you to those who help make Thanksgiving possible

THANK YOU…

Midwest agriculture leaders share appreciative notes

The ingredients for Thanksgiving meals are the product of the hard work of the nation’s farmers and producers, truckers, processors, grocers and veterinarians. (USDA, Scott Bauer)

MADISON, WI. — As consumers browse store shelves, they’re looking for ingredients for their traditional Thanksgiving meals. Maybe it’s a classic stuffing recipe or a special cranberry sauce that’s the hallmark of your family meal. Or the perfect pumpkin pie. These delicious treats are the product of the hard work of the nation’s farmers and growers, truckers, processors, grocers and veterinarians.

The shared graphic/poster includes thanks from the following commissioners, directors and secretaries from across the Midwest for the tireless work of those who keep food on our tables not only during the holidays, but every day:

  • Jerry Costello II, Director, Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDA)
  • Bruce Kettler, Director, Indiana Department of Agriculture (ISDA)
  • Tom Peterson, Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) Commissioner
  • Gary McDowell, Director, Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD)
  • Dorothy Pelanda, Director, Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA)
  • Randy Romansky, Secretary, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP)

A group of leaders came together to share their gratitude for the essential agriculture and food workers who have continued to work throughout the pandemic and are a key part of the fabric of our neighborhoods and communities.
