Nebraska feedlots held 2.60 million cattle as of Nov. 1

Nebraska feedlots of 1,000 or more housed 2.60 million cattle as of Nov. 1, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This stock has increased by 2% compared to last year. (UNL Extension)

LINCOLN, Nebraska. According to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Nebraska feedlots of 1,000 head or more held 2.60 million cattle as of Nov. 1. This stock has increased by 2% compared to last year.

Placement in October was 590,000 head, which is 6% less than in 2021. Cattle in October totaled 450,000 head, an increase of 3% compared to last year. Other disappearances totaled 10,000 heads in October, unchanged from last year.
