SITA strengthens partnership with Geneva Airport

Passengers traveling from Geneva Airport can now view self-service check-in, baggage drop and security points thanks to SITA’s digital passenger processing technology. The new touchpoints help reduce waiting times and provide greater flexibility to passengers who are increasingly looking for digital travel solutions.

Passengers and staff will soon also benefit from increased efficiency thanks to the new Geneva Airport Operating System (AOS), which intelligently optimizes operational processes and improves real-time information sharing with passengers and airport staff.

This investment in the latest passenger and operational technology is part of a wider renovation of Geneva Airport aimed at improving passenger quality while preparing the airport for future demands.

In recent weeks, SITA has already supplied Lufthansa Group airlines with its self-handling stations and its electronic pre-security gates to optimize passengers’ access to security.

By summer 2023, SITA will deliver 15 Smart Path Scan and Fly Mini units with self-contained bag drop, as well as 30 Smart Path TS6 kiosks with payment functionality. This self-service experience can be operated by skis, a first for EasyJet passengers flying from Geneva. The airport will also be the first to use SITA’s standard payment solution with a P2PE (point-to-point encryption) certificate. This will help passengers easily and securely pay for additional services, such as excess baggage or a ski limit, using contactless payment methods during the self-check-in process.
