Horror hit “Smile” tops Vudu’s weekly chart

Horror movie Smile topped Fandango’s transactional digital service Vudu’s top 10 movies chart for the week ending November 20.

The Paramount hit, which debuted for digital purchase on Nov. 15, stars Susie Bacon as a therapist who begins to feel an overwhelming horror engulf her life after witnessing a patient’s shocking suicide. It grossed $210 million worldwide and was the top original horror film of the year.

Paramount’s juggernaut of a series Yellowstone: Season 5, Part 1 remained at No. 2 on the chart. The series follows family patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Coster), who is determined to protect his ranch and his family’s legacy.

The Universal Pictures rom-com dropped from No. 1 to No. 3 on the chart A ticket to heavenwhich debuted for premium digital purchase and rental on November 8. It stars George Clooney and Julia Roberts as exes who find themselves on a joint mission to stop their lovesick daughter from making the same mistake they did.

Universal Art Halloween is overconsidered the final entry in the Halloween horror/slasher franchise, debuted at #4 when it was made available for digital purchase on November 15th. In the film, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) faces the legendary killer Michael Myers for the last time.

Action movie by Brad Pitt Bullet train, available for digital rental and available for digital purchase, rose from No. 6 to No. 5 on the chart. Pitt stars as Ladybug, a down-on-his-luck hitman who decides to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs go off the rails. His latest mission puts him on a collision course with deadly opponents from around the world on the world’s fastest train.

Although it’s not Thanksgiving yet, Dr. Seuss’ GrinchIllumination’s 2018 animated Christmas tale, charted at No. 8. It is available for digital rental and sale.
