Florence and the Machine canceled tour after falling out at the O2

Florence and The Machine have canceled the remainder of their UK and Ireland tour after frontwoman Florence Welch broke her leg on stage at London’s O2 Arena. The band were on their fourth date of their UK tour when Florence Welch collapsed on stage.

The frontwoman took to Facebook to reveal the news: “I’m very sorry to say that after the x-ray it looks like I danced with a broken leg last night. It’s not in my nature to postpone a performance, and certainly not a UK tour, but I’m in pain and as dancers know, dancing with an injury is not a good idea. And ordered not to comply to avoid further damage.

She added that the shows are currently canceled but will be rescheduled and asked fans to “please hold on to your tickets.” She said: “We are working hard to move these dates to next year and we will let you know as soon as possible.”

Welch concluded her statement by saying, “I’m heartbroken because the Dance Fever tour was my favorite show we’ve ever done. Communion with you. Your beautiful faces are shining. I love you so much and I’m so sorry for anyone who is disappointed. My heart hurts. I can’t wait to get back on my feet and back in your arms xx”
