The fort during the 2022 Air Force Wings Over Dallas World War II Commemorative Air Show at the Dallas Airport in Texas.
While no one on the ground was injured, all six people aboard the two planes died in the crash.
“Airshows use deconfliction plans to keep traffic moving through the show lines in front of the crowd,” said ASI AOPA Senior Vice President Richard McSpadden. “From video footage and eyewitness testimony, it is clear that one of the two planes did not follow its pointing line. The P-63 made a continuous U-turn approaching the exhibition line and collided with a B-17 flying a straight and level trajectory.’
