“Ukroboronprom” and six NATO countries will jointly produce military equipment

Ukrainian state enterprise Ukroboronprom signed an agreement with six NATO allied countries and partners in the joint development and production of heavy weapons and military equipment.

The six include, among others, Poland, the Czech Republic, France and Denmark. In the statement of “Ukrobaronprom” it is said that the agreements “do not allow [the] disclosure of any details.’

In addition to the production of military equipment, as part of the new deal, Ukrobaronprom will increase the production of ammunition of various calibers and the creation of service centers for the maintenance and repair of weapons.

The Ukrainian enterprise will also create joint scientific centers for work in the field of high technologies.

Funds from various countries, as well as defense enterprises of Ukraine and the Czech Republic, will also be attracted to carry out the planned works.

The UK government has promised to deliver an additional £50m package which contains air defense systems of Ukraine.

This was completed during the recent visit of British Prime Minister Risha Sunak to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on November 19.

The new tranche includes a total of 125 anti-aircraft guns and other equipment to deter Iranian-designed and supplied drones, radars and electronic anti-drone systems used by the Russian armed forces.

According to the British government, the defense systems will protect Ukrainian forces and the population from “an intense barrage of Russian strikes.”

Sunak said: “Today we are providing new air defense assets, including anti-aircraft guns, radars and anti-drone equipment, and are stepping up humanitarian support throughout the cold and difficult winter.”

The country is also sending winter kits and supplies for Ukrainian soldiers to combat the very cold winter.
