The number of mentions of the environment decreased in the aerospace and defense industry in the third quarter of 2022

In the global aerospace and defense industry, mentions of the environment fell by 51% in company filings in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter, with General Electric accounting for the largest share with a 37% year-over-year increase, according to GlobalData’s analysis of more than 121 applications for aerospace and defense companies.

Notably, the environment was one of the most mentioned topics in the third quarter of 2022, taking the highest number of mentions, ahead of social issues and governance, according to GlobalData.

 

Of the top 50 aerospace and defense companies in the third quarter of 2022, General Electric had the largest increase in mentions of the environment compared to the previous quarter. GlobalData found 618 environmental proposals in company filings – 511% of all proposals – and a 500% increase in Q3 2022 compared to Q2 2022. The number of environmental mentions of Larsen & Toubro increased by 1,875% to 237, and Hindustan Aeronautics increased by 100%. to 93.

GlobalData Filings Analytics also applies a weight to referral offers based on whether they are positive, negative, or neutral. Starting at 100 in 2020, an index above 100 is more positive. The overall environment index for the third quarter of 2022 was 111.
