The 4-H Produced in New York (PiNY) hands-on workshop will be held on December 7 at 6:00 p.m.
The PiNY program is a great way for all 4-H members to learn new skills, techniques and build confidence while increasing their knowledge of food handling and preparation in a public presentation format. (Photo provided)
CAYUGA CO., NY — Are you a kid who loves to cook? As a parent, you have a child with an interest in the world of cooking. Check out the Cayuga County 4-H Made in New York Culinary Event.
4-H Made in New York (PiNY) is designed to provide youth with opportunities to learn about and use a wide variety of agricultural products produced right here in New York State. PiNY is a silent demonstration that helps youth build confidence in demonstrating their knowledge of cooking skills while promoting a flavorful New York State food recipe. During the PINY program, individual 4-H members (also Cloverbuds!) conduct a “silent demonstration” with several of their peers at the same time. This style of demonstration allows younger 4-H members to build confidence and become more comfortable in front of an audience, while older members can focus on conquering more complex recipes. The PiNY program is a great way for all 4-H members to learn new skills, techniques and build confidence while increasing their knowledge of food handling and preparation in a public presentation format.
Join 4-H Senior Member Kathy Dristl and 4-H staff for a fun, informative workshop at the New York Equal Rights Heritage Center in Auburn. Learn about recipe selection, how to prepare for a demonstration and judging criteria.
This workshop is open to all youth ages 5-18 who are interested in learning more about the Produced in New York culinary event. PiNY participants must become Cayuga County 4-H members prior to the actual competition in January. For more information on joining 4-H, click HERE.
