Why brands use metapoly (2022)

Metapoles seem technical, but they are easy to understand. In essence, they’re about adding more information to your administrator or showcase that doesn’t meet the standard on the Shopify platform. Many businesses have specific needs unique to what they sell, their customers and their business goals. We have created a metapoly to help you set up and manage the information you need to grow your business.

Ultimately, the metapoly is about sharing the right content with the right audience in the right context. They offer an easy and flexible way to create a personalized storefront and provide impressions that delight new and returning customers, and make them come back for new ones. You can also use the metapoly to organize back office operations by centralizing data such as customer information, delivery information, and interagency notes. The best part? You can get all these benefits without writing code. With just a few clicks you can create and reuse custom data collection fields and add them to your administrator or to your online store without touching a line of code.

With Metafields, all of your store’s unique data – whether it’s related to customers ’birthdays, fabric care instructions, material lists, or packaging requirements for orders – can be useful information for any e-commerce business.

Read on to explore how one business uses the metapoly for easy data collection and management.

La Boutique MOSO

La Boutique MOSO is a French retail company that offers cosmetics and hygiene products. With both a physical store in Paris and an online store, the company sells nearly 3,000 products from 50 different beauty brands, including organic and natural products with sustainable packaging. The skinny and agile company La Boutique MOSO is headed by co-founder Jean-Baptiste Lanet, who also oversees the online store’s development efforts.

La Boutique MOSO uses the metapoly to provide additional context about the products.

“With Metafields we can have much better content in our online store and we can much easier to scale our store because everything is structured in a way that allows us to add products and brands much faster, with the same consistency and the same level of quality in the whole catalog, ”Jean-Baptiste shares.

Shopify’s metafields also expand aspects of store search and discovery. Adding metapoles to product information and creating new filters in Shopify admin have opened up a world of filtering options for buyers. Metapoles act as a system of designations, classifying product types into categories that are easily sorted, available through a search feature in the storefront.

“If you go into any collection with a lot of products, you can use the metapoly to filter the products,” explains Jean-Baptiste. “For example, you can filter products based on your skin type, you can filter products based on your skin problem. You can filter products based on their certification, regardless of whether they are made in France or not, whether they are certified organically or not, and even whether the packaging is stable or not. ”

Metapolis lists

Use metapoly lists to show multiple pieces of content, such as a list of ingredients, in a single metapoly. You can also use lists for more powerful showcase filtering all through the administrator without coding. Find out more at Shopify Help Center.

As an added benefit Metafields helped improve SEO search results and the conversion rate of La Boutique MOSO. Jean-Baptiste found that Google’s search engine scans content stored in Shopify’s metropolises, and shows results based on Metafields criteria.

For us, this is a change of game, a metapoly. The products work much better. If the metafields are properly structured and filled, we know that the conversion rate on the product page is much better.

Through the proper use of product classification and the transfer of this data to Metafields the administration and development of the showcase has been streamlined. “Adding a metapoly or classification is very simple without thinking about the impact,” says Jean-Baptiste. Organizing is easier through the Shopify store administrator sections, and easier to manage and create new directories.

Metafields offers a powerful yet flexible way to improve your storefront, increase conversions and increase SEO. And everyone can use it, from store owners to developers. Start by adding metapoles through the Shopify admin section and applying them across the store through the theme editor.
