Could Metaverse be your default boardroom in a few years?

Research by Boardable found that traditional boardroom executives are now more geographically dispersed than ever before. If so, could Metaverse serve as a platform for virtual meetings of board members, no matter where they are located?

Taking a detailed look at Metaverse’s utility as the boardroom of the future, we evaluated the opinions of leading Metaverse experts to understand whether Metaverse, which has attracted tens of millions of dollars in investment from major technology giants, has the tools and features to meet the needs of C-Suite executives in the coming years.

The best ways to retain your talent and address the growing technical skills shortage

In an insightful article for Spiceworks News & Insights, Becky Trevino, VP of Marketing at Snow Software, shares how organizations can address the growing technical skills gap and strategically upskill employees to fill staffing gaps. She recommends introducing a people-centric mindset and why employers should give IT staff at all levels the freedom and encouragement to make changes to long-standing practices that no longer fit the current state of the workforce.

In her article, Becky says that many organizations fail to achieve digital transformation because, due to a lack of training and resources within the organization, many IT staff are ill-equipped to keep up with the rapid pace of innovation, leading to underachieving results. This created a cycle of skills gaps, burnout, attrition and, ultimately, harm to the organization’s bottom line.

By 2030, the U.S. could lose $1.748 trillion in labor shortage income—about 6 percent of the entire U.S. economy—due to a lack of skills, not people. To solve this problem, she says, organizations need to invest in upskilling employees to prepare them for specialized roles. They should also prioritize upskilling and reskilling opportunities for existing employees, and recruit and retain people-centrically.

Ransomware recovery, not just protection, will ensure business continuity

All drivers wear seat belts as a precaution against unforeseen incidents. Similarly, all organizations should have robust ransomware recovery strategies in place to recover quickly, says Yuen Ping Yap, CEO and co-founder of NeuShield, in an article detailing the different types of recovery strategies organizations can adopt and the ideal approach to every organization must accept.

In his Spiceworks News & Insights article, Ewan discusses the ongoing battle between business defenders and nefarious hackers, where defenders’ cybersecurity needs to be as agile as today’s workforce. It must provide constant and consistent protection and an optimal user experience, regardless of where the infrastructure, users and devices are located.
