The new center brings Angus to the forefront of agricultural innovation – Potato News Today

Four of the most ambitious names in Scottish agriculture have become partners of the Angus Council in a new multimillion-dollar project that will bring the region to the forefront of agricultural innovation as Nancy Nicholson reports for Courier.

The Center for Sustainable Agricultural Innovation (CASI), headquartered at Forfar Mart, has applied for £ 15 million in funding from the Angus Fund under Deal with the Thai city region.

Agrico UK, Arbikie Distilling, the James Hutton Institute and SoilEssentials Ltd are companies that will work together through CASI to promote sustainable innovation on farms, crop quality, precision farming and neutral development.

SoilEssentials CEO Jim Wilson said CASI will help his precision farming company in bringing new innovations to Angus from around the world. Archie Gibson, CEO Agrico UKsaid the new potato quality center will focus on evaluating multiples of 300 tuber samples from a field or store.
