The military industry in the first quarter of 2022 was harder to fill vacancies in cybersecurity

Cybersecurity vacancies that closed in the first quarter of 2022 were online for an average of 53.1 days when they were disabled.

This was an increase over the equivalent of a year earlier, suggesting that last year it became harder to find the necessary skill set for these roles.

Cybersecurity is one of the topics that GlobalData, our parent company and from which the data for this article are derived, has identified as a key subversive technological force that companies will face in the coming years. It is believed that companies that are successful and invest in these areas are better prepared for the future business landscape and better equipped to survive unforeseen challenges.

At the regional level, these positions were the most difficult to fill in the Middle East and Africa, as relevant vacancies that were removed offline in the first quarter of 2022 were online for an average of 103.5 days.

The next most difficult place to perform these roles was Europe, while North America was in third place.

At the opposite end of the scale, vacancies were most likely to be filled in the Asia-Pacific region, and advertising was cut off in an average of 21 days.

While the military industry in the last quarter found it harder to fill these positions, these companies also found it harder to hire cybersecurity vacancies than the broader market, with online advertising averaging 56.2% more time compared to similar vacancies on the whole labor market.

The GlobalData vacancy analytics database tracks the daily recruitment patterns of thousands of companies around the world, attracting vacancies as they become available and tagging them with additional layers of data on everything from the experience of each position to whether the work is related to a wider industry. trends.
