The dry bean harvest is making progress
Early corn and soybean harvest is underway, while dry bean growers are about half done in Michigan.
The USDA says corn condition has improved to 63 percent good to excellent, with 90 percent damaged and 39 percent mature. The corn silage harvest reached 57 percent.
Soybeans improved to 58 percent from good to excellent with 70 percent of leaves. Dry beans are 54% good to excellent and 42% harvested, ahead of last year and up 9% in the previous week. Sugar beet is harvested at a rate of 16%.
More of the state is starting to harvest apples with good size and color reported.
