HBO Original Documentary Love to love you Donna Summer will debut in May 2023 on HBO and the HBO Max streaming service.

Directed by Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams (Animated Life, HBO’s Apollo) and Brooklyn Sudano, daughter of Donna Summer, the documentary is an intimate portrait of the Queen of Disco. Shaped by Summer’s own reflections, memories of close relatives, friends and colleagues, this is an in-depth look at the iconic artist as she created the music that took her from Germany’s avant-garde music scene to the glitz and bright lights of New York’s club dance, gaining worldwide recognition, her voice and artistry became the era’s defining soundtrack. A deeply personal portrait of Summer on and off the stage, the film features numerous photographs and never-before-seen footage—often shot by Summer herself—and provides a window into the range of her artistry, from songwriting to painting, exploring the ups and downs of life on the world stage. .
