South Korea’s SNT Dynamics has combined its KM120 120mm mortar system with a 4×4 Light Tactical Vehicle (LTV) built by Kia Motors for the Republic of Korea Army (RoKA).

The company first demonstrated the new LTV mortar capabilities at the DX Korea 2022 event held in Goyang from September 21 to 25. SNT Dynamics has yet to officially name the product.

“The crew consists of three people – a driver, a mortar loader and a fire control operator. The RoK Army wants a light and mobile mortar system that can be quickly and easily deployed by helicopter,” said a representative of SNT Dynamics.

He said Rocco has a potential need for about 200 mortars, although the program has not yet been put out to tender.

In addition to RoKA sales, the company said customers in the Middle East have expressed interest in purchasing the system.
