Police have appealed to a mother to come forward after the body of a newborn baby was found at a recycling center in Cambridgeshire. Officers were called to the scene on Ely Road in Waterbeach on Tuesday afternoon (November 29) shortly after the boy was found, reports said Peterborough Telegraph.
Police are asking anyone with any information to contact us and said they are holding out on information about the circumstances. Detective Superintendent John Massey said: “This is an incredibly sad and upsetting incident for all involved and we are trying to find out more about what happened.
“We would like to directly appeal to the boy’s mother to contact us – she may be in need of medical attention or in a vulnerable situation. We are working hard to get to the bottom of what happened, but we can’t do it alone, so I would also appeal to the public for help.
“Any information, no matter how small, can help the investigation being carried out by our dedicated child protection team; even if it is given anonymously to us or Crimestoppers.’
