SAINT JOSEPH, MO — The Angus Foundation recently launched the Fund the Future program, designed to give Angus breeders a new way to ensure a bright future for the breed. This initiative gives the breeder a unique and flexible opportunity to recoup from their own annual product sale, consignment, bull sale or online genetics sale. Even animals offered by private treaty are eligible. Proceeds will benefit the Angus Foundation, which provides unrestricted dollars for the Foundation’s mission to support Angus education, youth and research.

“It’s inspiring to see the potential impact of our new Fund the Future program,” said Jacqueline Upperman, executive director of the Angus Foundation. “When a breeder donates 25% or 100% of their lot to Fund the Future, they help carry on the Angus legacy.”

Program asks breeders to donate a percentage of their choice from both live and genetic sales lots. The Angus Foundation will provide the program logo and footer to highlight the Future Foundation lot in the breeders’ sale book. Fund the Future campaign contributors will be recognized in the Angus Foundation’s Impact Report Angus Magazine and on the Angus Foundation website. When Angus breeders see an offering marked with the Fund the Future logo, they know that a portion of its sale will be used to strengthen the breed by investing in its future.

“We hope you will consider investing in the future of the Angus breed during the fall selling season and as we look forward to spring“- says Upperman.

Every dollar raised through the program will allow the Foundation to continue investing in the breed and its representatives. From potential scientific breakthroughs to the next generation of beef industry leaders, attendees will play a role in the prosperity of Angus for years to come.

“This is a phenomenal way for breeders to show their commitment to the future of our breed and the membership, from juniors to regular members,” said Richard Dyer, chairman of the Angus Foundation. “What an opportunity for the Angus family to pay it forward and create a huge, lasting impact – plus, it’s simple and easy to get involved.”

Since 1998, the Angus Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in undergraduate and graduate scholarships and invested more than $1.4 million in research. The Angus Foundation provides unrestricted dollars needed to support programs such as youth leadership conferences, educational programs and research to advance the beef industry.
