The new facility has 39,000 square meters of working area. The company also announced the construction of the third plant in China, based in the technological development zone of Tiesi District in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, and will begin operation of this plant with 13,000 square meters of production space in the summer of 2023. .

Teijin Automotive Technologies has chosen the Changzhou and Shenyang areas for its new plants because of their proximity to the production facilities of several major European, American and Chinese automakers. Both plants will help meet the growing demand for composite components due to the growth of the electric vehicle (EV) market in China. The two plants will greatly enhance the company’s ability to supply lightweight, safe, energy efficient and durable composite components that are indispensable for environmentally friendly vehicles. Through the launch of the second and third plants, Teijin Automotive Technologies is actively strengthening its position as a world leader in automotive composite applications. At the same time, the company is developing applications for advanced composite materials and processes to meet the challenges of its automotive customers to achieve ambitious goals of reducing weight and CO2 emissions, as well as reducing EV production costs.
