Technip Energies will deliver a FEED package for a state-of-the-art plastics processing plant in Encina – Chemical Engineering

Technip Energies (Paris) announced that it had signed an agreement with Encin Development Group, LLC (Encina) to supply the Technology Design (FEED) section of the fluidized bed catalytic pyrolysis reaction for Encina’s commercial division for the production of circular chemicals from plastic waste in North America.

Encina uses a patented process to turn post-consumer plastic scrap into valuable circular chemicals. A process called catalytic cracking of plastic liquids (PFCC) converts blended plastics that are difficult to process into petrochemical raw materials such as light olefins and BTX aromatics. These round raw chemicals can be easily used in the production of new consumer goods, reducing the need for primary materials and significantly reducing the amount of plastic waste.

This FEED will use the industry powers and know-how of Technip Energies in liquid design created in the FCC Process Technology program. Technip Energies has an extensive portfolio of licensed and designed FCC divisions, including more than 60 base and 250 refurbishments, showcasing its experience in processes and mechanical design. The company’s development team is committed to ongoing development initiatives in providing technology and engineering solutions to support the industry and its energy transition goals.
