After more than two years of intense negotiations, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) and the pilots’ association Aeropers failed to reach an agreement on a new collective labor agreement for the company’s cockpit staff. SWISS remains firmly committed to its social partnership and is convinced that a joint solution can still be found in the spirit of the Swiss compromise, especially as both sides continue to state their openness to further negotiations. This joint solution will provide stability to SWISS pilots, the company and its customers.
In this regard, and in the interest of maintaining an effective social partnership in the long term, SWISS proposed that Aeropers refer the matter to out-of-court mediation. This approach will aim to develop a non-binding recommendation over the next few weeks that properly and fully takes into account the interests of both parties.
