Saskatchewan farmers have contributed to the provincial record in 2021.
According to the provincial government, Saskatchewan’s agricultural exports last year amounted to $ 17.5 billion. It broke the $ 16.4 billion record set in 2020.
The main commodities exported in 2021 were rapeseed, rapeseed oil, durum wheat, lentils, durum peas and dried peas. The leading destinations in the international market were the United States, China, Japan and Mexico.
“These record export figures show that Saskatchewan is in a strong position to continue to produce and supply world-class agricultural products that the growing world wants and needs,” Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison said in a press release.
