Rex shows increased profitability of domestic jet operations

In a presentation to shareholders at its annual general meeting, Regional Express (Rex) will say its unaudited management accounts for October showed pre-tax profit for domestic jets of around A$2 million after breaking even for the month of September, the first time the jet airline has posted a monthly profit. .

Its regional Saab operations remained loss-making in October, but its EBITDAR for the month was positive A$1 million after being EBITDAR positive since September. The company expects Saab’s regional operations to return to monthly profitability by the 3rd quarter of fiscal 2023.

Rex’s board of directors will confirm its expectation that the group will offset the accumulated losses incurred in the first four months of the financial year to overall make a profit for the full financial year. (£1.00 = AU$1.79 at time of publication)
