Raf Simmons announced on Monday that he is shutting down his eponymous label. The spring-summer 2023 collection was the last for 27 years of the brand.

“I am at a loss for words to share how proud I am of all we have accomplished,” Simons wrote Instagram post. “I am grateful for the incredible support of my team, my staff, the press and customers, my friends and family, and our dedicated fans and loyal followers.”

Simmons, who is a self-taught menswear designer, launched his brand in 1995 after earning a degree in industrial design and working as a furniture designer. He went on to get top designer positions at Jil Sander, Christian Dior and Calvin Klein. He is currently one of Prada’s creative directors and works alongside Miuccia Prada.

Fans and fellow designers have written about their appreciation for the brand on social media. “Always incredible. Always inspiring. Thanks Raf,” Marc Jacobs wrote in response to the ad.
