Panasonic Avionics wins Bamboo Airways contract for entertainment and connectivity systems

Bamboo Airways has chosen Panasonic Avionics to provide entertainment and communication systems (IFEC) for its wide-body fleet.

Panasonic Avionics is installing its eX3 entertainment system at the airline’s 787-9 fleet, and in recent weeks the aircraft has been arriving on intercontinental routes to Europe and Australia.

According to Panasonic, the eX3 offers a “fascinating, cinematic” experience with HD screens on every seat, complete with capacitive touchscreen displays and phones, as well as USB and laptop chargers. The business class will have 18-inch HD screens, the premium economy class – 13 and 12 inches, respectively.

Bamboo Airways has also opted for global flight connectivity services from Panasonic Avionics, which can provide aircraft with an average speed of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps).

“We are honored to work with Bamboo Airways when they launch intercontinental services,” said Panasonic CEO Ken Sane. “We are confident that our proven in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems will improve the passenger experience and help them quickly increase customer loyalty on these major new routes.”

Bamboo Airways Chairman / CEO Dang Tat Thang commented: “Bamboo Sky’s diverse and viable entertainment system is one of the cutting-edge technology solutions that Bamboo Airways is actively installing on its wide-body fleet. Through our collaboration with our trusted partner Panasonic Avionics, we look forward to delivering our passengers the best flight experience on every trip in the future. ”
