MacGregor will supply unloading systems for the CNOOC offshore field

McGregoras received Fr. contract supply two unloading systems to develop the gas field of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) in the eastern South China Sea.

Under the contract, MacGregor will supply two floating storage and unloading systems (FPSOs) for the Liuhua 11-1 / 4-1 reconstruction project.

MacGregor, a division of the Finnish firm Cargotec, plans to deliver unloading systems to the CNOOC Offshore Oil Engineering construction site, located in Qingdao, China, in January 2023.

Unloading systems will be designed to ensure safe and efficient unloading of oil from the FPSO to the shuttle tanker.

The contract is maintained shortly after the delivery of the mooring system and the riser system from MacGregor for CNOOC Project Linshui 17-2located in the South China Sea.

MacGregor Vice President for Offshore Energy Solutions Thor Eide said: “Over the past two years, we have supplied a 16-point mooring system, a northern and southern modular riser pull system for the CNOOC Lingshui 17-2 project in the western part of the South China Sea.

“Despite the unprecedented challenges and difficulties caused by the situation with Covid-19, our teams from China, Singapore and Norway worked together to achieve punctual delivery and continuous fast service, which was highly recognized by the CNOOC project team.

“Based on the trust and many years of excellent cooperation, we are proud to be able to support the development of the CNOOC gas field again and to contribute to the Liuhua 11-1 / 4-1 project.”

Unloading systems will be able to store a 16-inch catenary hose or a 16-inch floating hose to provide flexibility when choosing a tanker.

Last year, CNOOC began production at the Linshui 17-2 gas field, whose natural gas reserves are estimated at more than 100 billion cubic meters. MacGregor will supply unloading systems for the CNOOC offshore field
