IAG Cargo carries 538 tons of flowers for Valentine’s Day

IAG Cargo, the cargo division of the International Airlines Group, transported 538 tons of flowers on its network before Valentine’s Day.

Flower supplies have increased by 23 percent compared to 2021.

The airline operated flights with large volumes of flowers through its network of countries such as Kenya, India, South Africa, the Netherlands, Colombia and Ecuador.

IAG Cargo’s Regional Commercial Manager for Europe and Africa Freddie Overton said: “This is a busy time of year for thriving farms, flower retailers and distributors who are working hard to make customers around the world appreciate their loved ones this year.

“We are excited to be involved in this process as our global network is ready and able to take flowers around the world. We have some of the best flower establishments in the world to help put Valentine’s flowers on the market that look as fresh as the day they were cut. ”

IAG Cargo specializes in the necessary refrigeration chain management through the “Constant Freshness” service, designed to optimize the durability of perishable goods.
