What will Avatar: The Way of Water be about?
Disney describes Avatar 2: “Avatar: The Path of Water takes place more than ten years after the events of the first film. It begins the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the trouble that awaits them, many what they do to protect each other, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”
When will Avatar return to Disney+?
The first film was removed from Disney+ ahead of its theatrical re-release, but is expected to return to the streaming platform at some point after the release of Avatar: The Way of Water.

Production on the sequel officially began in 2017, but the combination of live-action and motion-capture elements meant the film took some time to make.
