How to watch the new trailer for Avatar: The Path of Water

To celebrate the long-awaited release of Avatar: The Way Of Water, its 2009 predecessor has been re-released in cinemas.

James Cameron’s film broke records when it first opened, and fans have been eagerly waiting for it for 13 years after numerous delays and changes to the release date.

Shortly after the release of the first film, it was announced that there would be at least four more films on the way, set in the wonderful world of Pandora.

Fans who are looking forward to the sequel and want to relive the experience of the original on the big screen the movie you have even more incentive to grab your tickets now with an exclusive new look at the upcoming sequel after the credits roll.

Fans who had already seen the release expressed their joy with surprised looks, with one user writing: “Just saw the reissue Avatar and I’m glad I stayed because I saw some scenes from Avatar: The Way of Water and it was soooo good. Can’t wait for December!”

Avatar: The Last Airbender will hit theaters worldwide on December 16, 2022.

A sneak peek of the sequel was added as a post-credits scene to the remastered version of the original film, which is currently showing in cinemas across the UK.

Disney describes Avatar 2: “Avatar: The Path of Water takes place more than ten years after the events of the first film. It begins the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the trouble that awaits them, many what they do to protect each other, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”

The first film was removed from Disney+ ahead of its theatrical re-release, but is expected to return to the streaming platform at some point after the release of Avatar: The Way of Water.

Production on the sequel officially began in 2017, but the combination of live-action and motion-capture elements meant the film took some time to make.

In September 2020, James Cameron announced that Avatar 2 was ready and that Avatar 3 was “about 95%” done. That means fans may not have to wait as long to get back on Pandora.

The director also said that part of “Avatar 4” has already been shot. Cameron told Variety, “Anything that needed to be done with a particular actor, we did all the scenes for 2 and 3 together – and little by little 4.”
