Drought severely affects winter wheat in Kansas
The drought in Kansas intensified and intensified last week, affecting the condition of winter wheat.
The latest USDA crop progress report states that the harvest is rated at 26 percent good to excellent. Forty-nine percent of the crop joined, up from 16 percent last year.
Twenty-one percent of corn is planted with one percent of the crop harvested. Planted soybeans were 3 percent, and planted sorghum and cotton were 1 percent.
Surface moisture is rated at 30 percent surplus, and subsoil humidity is rated at 30 percent surplus.
