BISMARCK – Twenty-five North Dakota companies in the state will showcase, sell and sample their products at the 33rd KMOT Pride of Dakota Day in Minot on Monday, July 26th.
“You can find a wide range of high quality Pride of Dakota products, including food and seasonings, artwork, books, apparel and jewelry,” said Agricultural Commissioner Doug Gering. “It’s a great time and place for fair gores to get together, shop and share lunch.”
The annual event takes place from 11am to 4pm under a large tent near the southwest corner of the trade fair.Pride of Dakota Lunch is served from 11am to 1pm
“For just $ 1, you can get grilled hot dogs, potato chips, and milk,” Goering says.
KMOT-TV is an event partner for the Pride of Dakota Day at the state fair. Lunch is sponsored by Cloverdale Foods, Northern Plains Potato Growers Association, Prairie Farm / Land Olakes, and Pano Gold Baking. Lunch proceeds will be donated to the North Dakota FFA Foundation.
This year’s new event is the Farm Kid Olympics, which takes place on the grass in front of the tent from 2 pm to 3:15 pm. The game includes ganny sack racing, three-legged race, pedal tractor racing, and cone shacking. The event will be hosted by the Velva FFA Chapter and prizes will be donated by the North Dakota Fair.
Göring also encouraged Fairgore to participate in the Pride of Dakota milk and cookie socialization at 3 pm under the Pride of Dakota tent.
“Fair Gore has the opportunity to enjoy North Dakota milk, freshly baked cookies and dot pretzels,” Goering said. “It’s another fun opportunity to taste the best that the state offers, and a chance to win the Pride of Dakota prize.”

The Pride of Dakota Program, run by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, provides member companies with co-marketing and promotional events such as Pride of Dakota Day, harvest and holiday showcases, and in-store demonstrations. The program also provides educational opportunities and representations at regional, national and international marketing expositions. Nearly 500 North Dakota companies are members of the Pride of Dakota.
