“Cooling Well With Friends” class on October 6 in Waco

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service On October 6, Waco hosts a class called “Cooling well with friends”.

The cooking class will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the McLennan County AgriLife Extension office, 4224 Cobbs Drive.

The cost is $50 and pre-registration is required by calling the AgriLife Extension office at 254-757-5180. The price is payable upon entry by cash or check.

Course instructors are Ashley Cox, AgriLife Extension Family and Community Health Assistant, and Colleen Follin, AgriLife Extension Family and Community Health Agent, both serving McLennan County.

“It’s a great opportunity to come together and learn and have fun,” Cox said. “In addition, participants will take home three freezer meals they created during the class. Each meal will be six to eight servings, so the cost of the course is really good value.’

Themes of the class “Let’s cook well with friends”.

The course will focus on improving participants’ knowledge and skills related to:

  • Meal planning.
  • Safe cooking.
  • Freezing dishes.
  • We cook healthy food.
  • Efficient and safe cooking habits.
