Container store to launch mobile application, loyalty program

For The Container Store, the mobile app, which will be launched soon, will serve as a funnel to attract customers to a new loyalty program that aims to deepen customer engagement, Malhotra said during a call about earnings. Improving technology will remain the “main focus” for the company, he added.

In addition to improving digital operations and adding physical stores, the company has also improved attracted several new partners recently including, The Home Edit, Cricut and Blueland. And at the end of last year a retailer bought a closeta home storage and wardrobe company, for $ 21.5 million and has recruited Tom Happ, a former co-owner and president of Closet Works, as the brand’s new president.

During a call about profits, Malhotra noted that the company has seen growth in its custom cabinet business. The acquisition of Closet Works will add the company’s manufacturing capabilities, expand its business nationwide and expand its product range, he said.

“We have worked very hard to improve the performance of our existing stores and e-commerce by focusing on our growth priorities,” Malhotra said. “In the first half, we worked very hard to improve our shopping experience through discovery zones and collaboration with professionals, which will continue in the second half, and we will obviously continue into the 2022 fiscal year.”
