In anticipation of numerous purchases of light training fighters in the Asia-Pacific region, China has demonstrated several models of training fighters at the Singapore Air Show, including training JF-17, L-15, FTC-2000G and K-8.

At the kiosk Aviation Industries Corporation of China (AVIC) at the Singapore Air Show were exhibited models of light training fighters with a view to the upcoming procurement in Malaysia, which announced a tender for light training fighters in which the Chinese light fighter L-15 -trainer participates.

Other potential customers include Vietnam, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Myanmar. Lightweight training fighters have become the choice for countries that do not face threats from well-armed opponents. For countries facing insurgents and terrorists, light fighters, which can also be used as training, have become cost-effective options.

The 210-square-meter AVIC indoor booth showcases high-tech, market-oriented products, including fighter jets, training aircraft, helicopters, UAVs and regional aircraft.

Other equipment is also on display in the training fighter exhibition area, such as the JF-17B Thunder double fighter simulator, the JF-17 Thunder training fighter, the L-15 training fighter, the FTC-2000G training fighter and the K-8 training aircraft. The helicopter showroom mainly showcases the Z-10ME, Z-19E and Z-9WE. The Wing Loong-1 and Wing Loong-2 UAVs are mainly on display in the UAV exhibition area. MA-700, high-speed turboprop regional aircraft of the latest generation are on display at the exhibition site of civil aircraft.
