BigCommerce expands technology capabilities for B2B companies

BigCommerce, a provider of cloud e-commerce software, is taking steps to expand market reach with companies of all sizes.

The software vendor’s last move came this week when it announced the acquisition of Quote Ninja Inc., a quote software vendor that does business as B2B ninja.

B2B Ninja, which was launched in 2014 and claims to have more than 125 corporate-level client companies worldwide, is a longtime technology partner of BigCommerce. A number of companies running their e-commerce sites on the BigCommerce platform have also deployed a B2B Ninja Citation app. The two companies have not disclosed that BigCommerce has agreed to pay for B2B Ninja, but they say they will now work more closely together to connect their technology platforms.

The acquisition comes after BigCommerce launching last year’s B2B Edition, which he developed together with technology partner BundleB2B as an “advanced set of B2B features”. These features include B2B processes such as managing multiple purchasing authorizations among buyers, re-ordering commonly purchased consumables, and managing customer accounts.

B2B Edition has also released a price quote management tool, but with B2B Ninja BigCommerce can now offer “the next level of quote functionality” for more sophisticated and larger quotes, says BigCommerce.

Bulk Bookstore, a provider to more than 35,000 customers, including schools, businesses and nonprofits, used B2B Ninja, integrated with BigCommerce, to electronically manage several hundred online tortures each month, says Heather Bradley, Bulk Bookstore’s operations manager, in a case study . on the B2B Ninja website. This saved the book company time and freed up its sales representatives to focus on other areas of customer support instead of manually processing quotes, she says.

BigCommerce customers will be able to deploy B2B Ninja along with any version of BigCommerce e-commerce software.

The monthly price for a Ninja B2B deployment ranges from $ 75 to $ 499 and up depending on criteria such as number of users and processed quotes, according to prices at B2BNinja.com.
