Bell urges the UK to wait for the “next generation” 525 for NMH

The UK Department of Defense has to wait for the Bell 525 Relentless to set up “next generation helicopter bridges” to meet the requirements for the new Medium Helicopter (NMH), said Joel Best, director of global military sales and strategy at EUMECAA.

Speaking at the IQPC International Military Helicopter conference in London from 15 to 17 February, Best said that Bell absolutely intends to supply its 525 for the UK NMH requirement, and with its ongoing certification process at the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the track, which will end in the fourth quarter of 2022 (provided that all applications and approvals of the FAA are returned within a “reasonable” time), the Ministry of Defense will not have to delay.
