Applications are now open for Commercial Dry Room of the Year

PROGRAM PROGRAM… Comments

The program is open to all AFIA member commercial dry feed businesses

“Each year, we are pleased to recognize commercial dryers that are doing their best to ensure safe and efficient operations,” said Gary Huddleston, AFIA’s Director of Feed Manufacturing and Regulatory Affairs. “Businesses have faced many challenges over the past year, from supply chain disruptions to labor shortages, but that hasn’t stopped our members from producing safe, quality pet food.” (US Department of Agriculture, Public Domain)

ARLINGTON, VA — The American Feed Manufacturers Association (AFIA), in partnership with Feedstuffs, has opened the application phase for its Commercial Dry Feed Business of the Year (FFY) program. The program is open to all AFIA member commercial dry feed businesses.

“Each year, we are pleased to recognize commercial dryers that are doing their best to ensure safe and efficient operations,” said Gary Huddleston, AFIA’s Director of Feed Manufacturing and Regulatory Affairs. “Businesses have faced many challenges over the past year, from supply chain disruptions to labor shortages, but that hasn’t stopped our members from producing safe, quality pet food.”

AFIA has been celebrating excellence in feed manufacturing since 1985. In 2016, AFIA created four different manufacturing categories to be more inclusive of different industry facilities. In 2021, the FFY program split each category into a separate program: liquid feeds, commercial dry feeds, premixes and ingredients and integrators, with each category receiving its own Facility of the Year award.

Application phase for Commercial production of dry fodder is open and applications with a $100 deposit must be submitted by September 16. The winner will be announced on January 25, 2023 at an AFIA education program held in conjunction with International exhibition of production and processing in Atlanta, Georgia. The head of the winning plant will receive an overnight stay and free registration for the exhibition.
