AliExpress presents new winter sports trends

The global winter sports market continues to grow in 2022 thanks to the exciting 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and the growing popularity of winter sports around the world. Sales figures from AliExpress, the global online retail market led by the Alibaba Group, show a growing demand for winter sports goods, especially winter sports equipment and gear.

In the 4th quarter of 2021, AliExpress recorded a 60% increase in sales of winter sports equipment compared to the same period last year, and an increasing number of customers looking for more fashionable and trendy ski suits, goggles and helmets.

Ski products with technological features, such as heated ski gloves, are of interest to AliExpress customers because they create a more pleasant experience for fans of winter sports. Sales of heated ski gloves on AliExpress in the 4th quarter of 2021 increased 780 times compared to the same period last year.

The best-selling equipment for winter sports on AliExpress includes ski helmets, snowboard kits, ski pants, ski gloves and ski goggles. In particular, sales of ski helmets on AliExpress in the 4th quarter of 2021 increased by 1500% compared to the same period last year.

The markets of Russia, the USA, South Korea, France and Spain are in the lead in sales of equipment for winter sports

The top five markets where winter sports are purchased on AliExpress include Russia, the United States, South Korea, France and Spain. In addition, when AliExpress operates in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, customers in Iceland, Chile and other remote areas can get their winter sports on AliExpress thanks to a well-established logistics ecosystem.

The value of ski equipment has been particularly advantageous to French and Spanish customers. In particular, sales of ski goggles and ski gloves in Spain increased by 100% and 53% compared to the same period last year, respectively. In France, customers choose a two-layer ski jacket, which led to an increase in this product by 72% over the same period last year.

In Asia, a growing number of South Korean customers are purchasing on AliExpress ski gloves and double-layer ski jackets for their ski adventures.

Enhanced e-commerce experience with upgraded logistics infrastructure

AliExpress is committed to providing a faster and more efficient cross-border delivery experience through its robust cross-border e-commerce ecosystem consisting of seven domestic qualifying warehouses in China, nine automated sorting centers in China, overseas warehouses and an average of over 80 per week.

In partnership with Cainiao AliExpress currently offers delivery within 10 business days for individual cross-border orders made in Spain and France, 12 business days for Brazil and five business days for South Korea.

Since 2020, AliExpress and Cainiao have also been actively developing overseas warehouses to increase the capacity and efficiency of cross-border logistics networks. Local delivery in Spain and France can be delivered in three days and seven days for the rest of Europe.

A network of more than 20,000 pickup points has been launched in Spain, France, Poland and Russia, bringing together lockers under the AliExpress brand that operate and operate Cainiao, as well as collection points that operate from local partners.
