Airbus has delivered the first A321neo from FAL Tianjin

airbus delivered the first A321neo assembled at China’s Juneyao Air’s Final Assembly Line Asia (FAL Tianjin) in Tianjin, China. The aircraft is equipped with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines and has 207 comfortable seats, eight in business class and 199 in economy class. It will be delivered using a 10 percent green jet fuel blend to support China’s green aviation strategy.

Airbus has four A320 family FALs worldwide: Hamburg, Germany; Toulouse, France; Tianjin, China; and Mobile, United States. Following the conversion of the Tianjin plant last year, and with the newest facility about to complete its transformation in Toulouse, the global industrial system will be fully compatible with the A321, creating the flexibility and maneuverability to meet Airbus’ scale-up goals and growing market success for the A321 model.
Opened in 2008, FAL in Tianjin became the first assembly line for Airbus commercial aircraft outside of Europe. In the same year, the first sections of the aircraft arrived at the site. Since the first delivery of the A320 in 2009, Airbus FAL in Tianjin has delivered more than 600 aircraft in 14 years of operation. The A321neo is the longest fuselage in the best-selling single-fuselage Airbus A320 family, comfortably seating 244 passengers and offering a longest range of 4,700 nm/8,700 km. Featuring the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky, the A320neo family delivers at least a 20 percent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, as well as a 50 percent reduction in noise compared to previous generation aircraft, thanks to the inclusion of the very latest technologies, including the next generation. engines and Sharklets. By the end of January 2023, the A320neo family had more than 8,600 firm orders from more than 130 customers worldwide.
