While most countries – around the world – still require vaccinated Americans to take the Covid test before – or after – their arrival, there are actually a number of European countries that do not.
There is no doubt that the world of travel is beginning to return to some normalcy – everything is starting to look like in pre-pandemic times.
However, many countries around the world have a list of entry requirements that travelers must meet to visit – while some countries still require visitors to take a Covid test and even quarantine. However, traveling in Europe is definitely starting to look a lot easier than it has in the last few years – and some countries have even begun to waive all of their entry requirements related to Covid-19.
Let’s take a look at some of the most popular European destinations – for American travelers – that no longer require visitors to take the Covid test.
Having been the most visited country in Europe prior to the global pandemic France now allows those who have been fully vaccinated to enter without the need for Covid testing. However, it is important to note that travelers – aged 18 and over – should have a booster dose of the vaccine if they received their first set of vaccinations more than nine months ago. Otherwise, they do not qualify as a complete vaccination.
On February 11, fully vaccinated Americans were allowed entry United Kingdom without the need to pass the Covid test.
Those who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 – and who want to visit England, Wales or Northern Ireland – will need to take two Covid-PCR tests. This includes taking a test before they leave, and the second day after arriving in those countries.
Unvaccinated travelers wishing to enter Scotland must show the results of a negative Covid test, which must be taken no more than 48 hours before departure.
As one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, Spain now allows fully vaccinated travelers to enjoy all that its sun-drenched beaches, superb cuisine and chilled atmosphere have to offer, without having to pass the Covid test.
However, like other countries, Spain does not recognize you fully vaccinated against Covid-19 if you received your last dose of pre-vaccination more than 270 days before leaving the country.
American travelers who received a full dose of vaccination can now enter the beautiful island nation of Greece without the need to be tested on Covid.
However, in order to be considered fully vaccinated, travelers must take a booster dose if their first round of vaccination took place more than nine months before the departure date.
Those who want to see the magic of the Northern Lights can now do so by visiting Norway without having to take a Covid test – neither before nor upon arrival.
In fact, Norway has joined such as Switzerland removing all entry requirements for Covid – which have been around for some time.
Fully vaccinated travelers who want to enjoy Scandinavian culture – and try the famous Köttbullar (Swedish meatballs) can now do so by entering Sweden without having to take a Covid test.
However, the country has all domestic vaccine passports and mandates have already expired – Currently, unvaccinated Americans are NOT allowed to enter the country, and until March 31 there is an entry ban for those who have not received a full dose of vaccination.
